Palm Beach Maritime Academy

PBMA's athletic program is built around a full year of competition. Flag football and soccer take the field on our own amazing turf (the envy of many), where our scholars get the experience of competing at home in front of their community. Basketball and volleyball round out the year, keeping our athletes moving, growing, and connected to each other.

What makes a PBMA athlete different is not just the number of sports or the length of the season. It is the culture around competition. Because PBMA is a K-12 school, our athletes grow up in the same community together. They cheer for each other across sports and grade levels. By the time a younger scholar steps onto the field for the first time, they already know what PBMA athletics looks like. And they are ready.

Our coaches are committed to meeting every athlete where they are. Whether your student has been competing since they could run or is trying a sport for the very first time, there is a place for them here.

Here is the news that has our athletic community buzzing: beginning in the 2026-27 school year, PBMA will compete in the Florida High School Athletic Association, the state's primary governing body for scholastic athletics. That means our teams will go head-to-head with traditional schools across the region and be eligible to compete for state recognition for the first time.

For our student-athletes, this is not pressure. It is a platform.

Our scholars have been building this program through real seasons, real coaching, and real competition. They have developed their skills, their sportsmanship, and their championship mindset. The move to FHSAA simply means the rest of Florida gets to see what we have always known: PBMA athletes are the real deal.

For our school community, this is a milestone moment. We are proud of every scholar who has helped build this program into what it is today, and we cannot wait to see where they take it next.

Right now, our indoor teams practice and compete with the support of community partners, including a local Salvation Army facility and a neighboring middle school for games. We are actively working toward securing a dedicated gymnasium of our own, and that work is underway. In the meantime, our athletes show up with the same energy, the same preparation, and the same pride every single time.
